Señora Marcy Paulson
¡Hola! Welcome to Spanish Class!
My name is Marcy Paulson. Since I was young, I've been drawn to learn languages and meet people from different parts of the world. As a little girl, I discovered how to point my radio's antenna and pick up AM stations from Cuba to learn the language and songs. In high school and college, I studied Spanish and German. I talked to anyone I came across who was speaking a different language. It's a thrill every day to see students share my enthusiasm for learning a new language!
1998 - Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (Bryan College)
1999 - Master's Degree (Vanderbilt University)
Hobbies and Interests
I play old-time string band music from right here in Southern Appalachia on fiddle, mandolin, and harmonica. My husband joins in on the banjo.
Normal Park Museum Magnet
I was privileged to teach Spanish during the first two years Normal Park became the Museum Magnet School (2002-2004). I left teaching when I had my daughter and son, and now I'm excited to come back to the very same role I served in ten years ago.
