I am a lifelong Chattanooga resident and love our amazing city. I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga class of 2002 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in early childhood education, specializing in grades PreK-4. In 2004, I graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Master of Arts Degree in Instructional Leadership.
I began my professional teaching career in 2002 teaching 3rd grade at Brown Academy for International Studies and remained in that position until the summer of 2005. I then transitioned to McConnell Elementary where, over the next 4 years, I taught 2nd and 4th grades. In 2009 I took a leave from education to care for my newborn son and remained home to care for daughter.
In the fall of 2015, I returned to teaching 4th-grade students at Middle Valley Elementary for 1 semester prior to returning back home to care for our 3rd addition to the family, a daughter.
I have always known that teaching would be my passion. I love teaching, and more importantly, working with children. The truth is, as much as I like to think I am the one who is teaching them, many times my students teach me something new every day!
I am married to Blake Freeman, who is also an educator. We have 3 children: Jackson (5th grade); Claire (2nd grade); and Nora Kate (age 3). We also have a dog named Lucy. I love coffee, reading, exercising, friendship, and spending time with my family!
My husband, Blake, and I also serve as the middle school youth pastors at our church working with students each and every week as they navigate through their life towards adulthood!
I look forward to learning alongside your child for the remainder of the school year.
