Don't let Tryouts or our first practice be your first practice! Run on your own now to prepare your body for the workouts we'll be doing in August- shoot for 20 solid minutes of running at least 4 days/week!
Join the Facebook group, Remind, and check the website often. I'll update with needed info, reminders, and race results-the easiest way to see these is via the site, FB group (NPMM Middle School Cross Country) and Remind texts (I'll be giving this code out on registration day and will post).
Support the team!! This is huge. It's not always easy to get kids to meets- they are across town and start right after school, so if you can carpool or help provide a ride please do! I also ask that we get there in time to cheer on & inspire our elementary team as they run just before we do.
All athletes are asked to provide a $50 lightning athletic fee (payable via NP site) and I'll also be scheduling days we can volunteer to work the concession stand- a portion of the sales goes back to our team.
Additionally- any parent that wants to join us on a run is welcome! It's always helpful to have additional adults since we are venturing throughout the neighborhood on practice runs.
Our Coaches- Mr. Moore (Exc. ed./gifted) and Ms. Malapanes work together to manage the team, hold practices, and attend meets. We share the common goal of helping students learn to love exercise, build kinesthetic awareness, and become physically and mentally healthy individuals.
Many other sports and activities can overlap with cross country. We ask that runners attend at least all 3 practices per week unless special arrangements are made, and optional Saturday runs will also be scheduled.
Additionally, we expect that team mates maintain a 3.0 or better gpa and stellar discipline record.
