Mrs. P. Kok - Reading Intervention

Hello! I am Erica Kok, or as the kiddos know me, Mrs. P. Kok!  I am so excited to be a part of the Normal Park family as the full time lower school reading interventionist!  I am here to help children grow as passionate readers and enthusiastic writers in a small, intensive group setting.

Since starting my teaching career in Clayton County, Georgia, I have taught preschool, kindergarten, and first grade.  I also appreciated the experience of being at an IB (International Baccalaureate) school in Atlanta Public Schools where I taught in a gender-specific classroom of all boys and of all girls.  It gave me such a new perspective when teaching.  Finally, my most recent position was in a private preschool program where I loved being with the littlest of students.  I can’t wait to use all of my experiences to teach and grow our students here at Normal Park!

My family and I just moved to the Chattanooga area from north Atlanta in July.  Along with my husband, Peter, kiddos, Lanie and Lukas, and our dog, Jasmin, we are happily adjusting to living on Lake Chickamauga in such a quiet and beautiful city!  Lanie and Lukas are also loving being a part of such an amazing and unique school.  We enjoy all lake activities, snow skiing, and generally being outside with friends and family.  I, personally, love to cook, find a good bargain, and listen to music that makes me dance!  We love SEC football and I am a Florida Gator fan by birth!  I love veggies, and don’t eat much chocolate.   But enough about me, I can’t wait to get to know tidbits about each of these amazing students this year at NPMM!

Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns!
